Suzuki SX4 WRC
The Suzuki SX4, the much talked about concept is a reality now. The new Suzuki SX4 or the Sport X-over vehicle will participate in the World Rally Championship (WRC) this year. It was launched at the 76th Geneva International Motor Show as a revolutionary concept by Suzuki Motor Corporation. Hailed as an important marketing initiative by the Suzuki Motor Corporation, WRC is the perfect platform for testing the limits of the SX4.

Important factor for Suzuki’s participation in the WRC is due to the success that Team Suzuki has garnered since 2002 in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC). One of the major highlights was the first place standing for the Suzuki Ignis Super 1600 in JWRC 2004. The JWRC 2006 also started off on a winning note with the Suzuki Swift Super 1600 winning the Swedish rally. Since then Suzuki has been waiting to see how the SX4 performs in the WRC championship: this being the first for Suzuki Motor Corporation.
The SX4 prototype is driven by a 2.0 Litre turbo charged J20 engine, which can provide a maximum torque of 637N.m at 3,000rpm and 320bhp at 4,000-4,500 rpm. The SX4 prototype has an all wheel drive system with front and rear mechanical differentials and an electronic differential in the center. The power is transmitted through the 5-speed sequential gearbox.
